Improving Denture Fit

Do your dentures fit snuggly tight? Do they stay tight while chewing? Do they come out of your mouth when you sneeze? If the answer is no to just one of these questions, you should do some investigation. Properly made dentures will be sure to enhance your enjoyment while eating favorite foods.

These are initial denture making aspects that involve optimum fit:

  1. A thorough intra-oral denture examination and evaluation
  2. Proportionately designed edentulous impressions
  3. An accurately designed mucostatic outline
  4. Correctly recorded vertical dimension (VOD) and centric occlusial relation
  5. Correct selection of the right type, size, mold and color of denture teeth
  6. Determining the proper tooth positioning outline of the upper and lower jaws

These first six steps only cover some of what it takes to adaquately plan denture treatment. There are many more steps to actually build a personalized set of dentures. The point is that less than 1% of denture providers actually go the extent of what it really takes to make a proportionately accurate and well functioning set of dentures. Wouldn’t you want to go to a denture provider that takes the necessary steps? After all, dentures are a biomechanical apparatus that are intended to harmonize in proportionate synchronization with the intra-oral maxiofacial and tempromandibular functions of the cranial part of your body.

Most are not aware that dental technicians who work in laboratories, where over 90% of dentures are made, are not required by the state of Michigan to be licensed, nor are they required to have any education in their field whatsoever; whereas our denturist* has been certified, as a denture technlogist (denture craftsman), by four separate boards with over twenty-five years experience.

Besides the latest technology for tightening loose dentures, we also use several techniques for relining dentures. Some denture reline techniques take less time than others. We have soft denture liners and hard denture liners. We also do one day denture relines and denture relines while you wait. We not only care about your denture needs, we also have the ability to deliver dentures that look natural, stay in comfortably and make you feel healthy. We invite you to visit us for a comprehensive denture evaluation.
